Fox News Maintains Ratings Lead Over CNN, MSNBC for Third Day of Trump Impeachment Hearings

Fox News maintained its lead over cable competitors CNN and MSNBC during Tuesday’s round of hearings in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. However, all three broadcast networks had more demo viewers than all of the cable news networks in both the morning and afternoon sessions, with ABC leading the way

Fox News brought in 2.254 million viewers from 9 a.m. ET to 1:45 p.m. ET. Of those, 330,000 were in the key demographic of viewers between the ages of 24-54. CNN fell behind the three broadcast competitors to sixth place with 1.557 million total viewers at that time, 310,000 of whom were between 25-54.

ABC brought in 1.904 million viewers, ranking third place overall. CBS had 1.749 million total viewers with 379,000 in the demo and NBC had 1.718 million total viewers, 468,000 of whom were in that key demo.

Fox News had 2.518 million total viewers with 374,000 between 25-54. MSNBC saw 2.539 million total viewers, 349,000 of whom were in the demo. Of CNN’s 1.715 million afternoon viewers, 350,000 were in the demo.

On ABC, 493,000 of the 2.073 million viewers were from 25-54. NBC saw 2.169 million viewers, 531,000 of whom were in the demo, while CBS got 1.942 million total afternoon viewers, with 458,000 in the demo.
