WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
Will fire be meeting ice when “Game of Thrones” returns for its seventh season in July?
We’re still months out from the season premiere (sadly, there will only be seven episodes), but fans are already buzzing with different theories coursing through the web.
What you need to know first
When the show signed off last June with “The Winds of Winter” (in the wake of possibly the best “GoT” episode ever in “Battle of the Bastards”), Cersei (Lena Headey) destroyed the Sept of Baelor by wildfire, killing the High Sparow (Jonathan Pryce), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) and others.
With the death of his wife, King Tommen (Cersei’s illegitimate son played by Dean-Charles Chapman) commits suicide, opening up the Westerosi crown.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington), “King in the North,” also has Melisandre (Carice van Houten) banished from Winterfell for her role in the death of Shireen, Stannis Baratheon’s innocent daughter.
