Bobby Kennedy III is readying his comeback film.
Insiders told Page Six that he will direct a flick tentatively titled “Battle of Aspen” about Hunter S. Thompson’s campaign to become sheriff of the county in which the titular Colorado town is located.
“It starts production in September, and all of the festivals are already excited about it,” said a source.
The scion’s last movie, “AmeriQua,” starring Alec Baldwin, was a flop.
“After Bobby’s last film, it’s like this is his coming of age. It’s a huge deal for him,” a source said.
Kennedy hopes to cast stepmom Cheryl Hines and Adam Driver. Former head of Haute Hippie Jesse Cole will executive produce the film, and Liquid Entertainment CEO Krysanne Katsoolis and Josh Jackson are also producers.
